First Clue - Audio/Text

[ The first sound out of the comm was a suspicious thump thump thump. Someone’s testing to see if it’s on, maybe? After that, someone whistles what sounds like the acknowledging warble a computer might make. After that is a long, tense pause, followed by a grunt. The audio flicks off, but typing starts after a few more moments. ]

Gunney? Dare?

[ Another long pause before the typing continues. ]

This isn’t New Mombasa. This probably isn’t even Earth, is it? Where am I?

[ More importantly, where are his guns?!]

[ Checking everywhere's been a big part of his life lately. Even straight vertical isn't safe. ]

Megatron sounds worse. Energon? [ He flexes one hand before continuing. ] I'm not sure why the Forerunners left all their crap. But the Covenant take whatever they find and reverse engineer it to use against us.

Mhm. Energon's what makes them tick and run properly, guess it's kinda their version of blood, maybe? [She starts down a hall once she's on the right deck.]

Well, that sounds eerily familiar too. A lot of our technology back home was reverse engineered from Megatron while he was frozen in the governments 'basement', the Hoover Dam.

[ He gives the stairwell one last, wary, check, before starting after Mikaela down the hall. ] Energon, energy. Makes sense, sort of.

That's a new one on me. Bet that Megatron guy didn't appreciate it - sounds like he un-froze. [ He pauses for a moment, chuckling humorlessly. ] Didn't get any plasma weapons from it, I hope?

No, he...definitely didn't. She shook her head wryly, leading the way.] He wasn't a happy camper, that's for sure. [She glanced over her shoulder, a wry grin on her face.] Not sure. The military may have.

This is where the sushi bar Kuma-Ko is. [She points as she leads the way into the room.] Don't freak out at the bears, they won't hurt you and they're really nice. You just tell them what you want, and they make it for you. Also, there's a bar on this floor too. There's a gift shop here too that has stuff like sunscreen and clothes, but if you need something to wear, deck 12 is totally the way to go.

[She'd actually been meaning to head to the bazaar and to deck 12. She wants a camera!]

They should get rid of them. Nothing good comes from that. [ He pauses when for a moment, speaking because... let's face it, what she said is just STRANGE. ]

Bears? [ He peers in. Oh cripes, it's like cuddly Brutes without the armor and the bad smell. This is so awkward for him. ] I'll try not to freak out. Deck 12 has more shopping, or something?

How much is all of this going to cost? I'm afraid I left my wallet back in New Mombasa.

Mhm, yeah. I know the Autobots have refused to share their weaponry with us. Can't say I blame 'em. [Ticked the military and government off though, she assumed.]

Yeah, bears. See? [She points.] They won't hurt you. And yeah, Deck 12 has loads of stuff. You don't have to worry about money, either. It's a bit of a free for all, everything is free here.

[ He can't blame the Autobots either. Just seeing how the Covenant used the tech they had gotten was enough to put him off of reverse engineering entirely. ] It means more to make something when you don't steal the designs from another species.

[ Rookie's eyeing the bears cautiously, wishing he could flick on his VISR without blinding himself. Just to see if it's true they won't hurt him. ] Everything? Wow. What are we supposed to do, then?

[ Kage told him to relax. He's not sure how to do that without falling asleep somewhere awkward. ]

Exactly. [She shifts and glances over at him with a nod.]

Yeah, everything. And...well...I mean, there's a lot to do here, I guess. There's a pool, caves, a big maze that I didn't bother getting lost in, um...a flower field and a mini golf course.

[ He looks back over to her, certain that the bears aren't hostile. Huge monkeys in armor shooting at him, bird-lizards with energy shields - that he can understand. But bears in aprons? That's a little much. ]

Not so fond of flowers or golf, I take it? [ Though he makes a note to check out the maze sometime. Sounds interesting. ]

I...I don't really like flowers. [She replied distantly with a shake of her head.] Mini golf I'm fine with, but flowers...[Her voice trailed off, but then she refocuses on him and grins.]

Anyway, if you're not hungry, I can show you deck 12, where you'll find whatever clothes and stuff you'll need.

So I should get you chocolates if I piss you off instead, right? [ Trying to joke, here. ]

I'm good for now. Deck 12, then?

[She looks at him startled, then actually laughs.]

Yeah, if you wanna endear yourself to me, chocolate is the way to go, here. [She nods, then heads back towards the stairs.]

Okay, this way, then.

[ Laughing! Laughing's good. He chuckles a little himself. ]

I'll keep that in mind.

[ He keeps up with her. More stairs! ]

[She flashes a smile over her shoulder, hiking up those stairs. Sorry, Rookie D:]

Don't worry, unless you like, kill me I doubt I'll get mad at you. [Or unless he threatens people she likes. Then she might get mad, too.]

...Speaking of that. Um, you can die here, but you'll just come back.

[ It's okay, he can deal. He just kicks in his sneakiness and his paranoia as usual. ]

Yeah...I know, it's kinda nuts, right? But you can totally die, but you will just...wake up in your room like a day or so later. Naked.

[ He so doesn't want to be naked on this ship. Like... ever. It would be traumatizing. ]

Maybe I should pick up some clothes. Just in case.

Mhm, yeah. And whatever you were wearing at the time of death? It gets scattered al over the ship. So...if you like that armor...[She lifts a brow, flicking her eyes over him as she turns to peer,] You definitely might want to snag some clothing while we're there.

[ He cuts his speaker just to give himself the chance to curse with no one listening. He'd rather not be out of his armor while he's here, but he doesn't want it all over the ship, either. ] Sounds like a good idea, yeah.

I know it sucks, but I've...lost a few things that way. [At least most of her things got returned to her at some point.]

[Once to the deck, she leads the way to the massive room full of suitcases.]

Not your fault. I'll just have to be careful. [ Because the last thing he wants is that Covie finding his helmet... or anything else belonging to him.

He stops for a moment, just... looking. That's a lot of suitcases right there. ]

[ He could make that little room almost like home, with a few things. ]

If I can find a bag, I can probably handle it. [ He's not overly strong, but he can handle himself. And his list is pretty short - he just needs clothes, a pen, and some paper right now. ]
